Breaking News – WI AB 546 Voted on Thursday Feb 13! What Happens Next?

Just a quick note to share the news that the Assembly Health Committee voted 9 to 6 to pass AB 546 out of committee earlier  on Thursday Feb 13!!!  This is a great victory for health freedom and for Wisconsin!  It means our work on this bill gets to continue, for now, as we try to get it to the next step: a vote on the Assembly floor before their session ends on February 20, 2020.

We’ll let you know as soon we hear AB 546 is scheduled for a floor vote so you can flood the legislature with requests for YES VOTES!  The committee vote count was closer than we’d hoped – and expected – but we’re just so grateful the vote happened at all and that it turned out as it did.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates on this Practitioner Exemption bill.  Wisconsin is SO close to becoming the 12th Safe Harbor state!  Thank you to everyone who has joined NHFA in getting the bill this far and who remains optimistic and active in getting it past the finish line!  This proactive, solution-oriented legislation is needed to protect consumer access to unlicensed practitioners who provide complementary health care services in Wisconsin, including herbalists, traditional naturopaths, homeopaths, nutrition consultants, and many others.

Fingers crossed AB 546 will make it to the Assembly floor next week!  That’s all for now!
